1. Introduction
Welcome to LynkIt ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy while ensuring your professional data is secure and your purchases are portable. This Privacy Policy explains how LynkIt collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
2. Information We Collect
A. Account Information (Cloud)
To manage your credit balance and enable synchronization across devices, we collect the following when you create an account:
- Identity: Email address and name (provided via Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In, or email registration).
- Entitlements: Your current credit balance, transaction history, and subscription status.
- Device IDs: Unique identifiers to facilitate secure synchronization.
B. Contact, Scan & Usage Data (Local-First)
- Business Cards: Images and extracted text (Name, Phone, Company, etc.) are processed to digitize the card.
- Voice Notes: Audio files are recorded only when you explicitly use the "Add Note" feature.
- Vector Embeddings: AI search data is generated locally to enable smart search capabilities.
- Location Data: If enabled, we store the latitude/longitude of where a card was scanned to help you organize contacts by event or location.
3. Device Permissions
We request specific permissions to provide core App features. You may revoke these at any time in your device settings:
- Camera: Required to scan physical business cards.
- Microphone: Required to record voice notes attached to contacts.
- Location: Optional. Used to geotag scans so you can remember where you met a contact.
- Photo Library: Optional. Used to save scanned card images to your device gallery or import existing images.
4. How We Process and Share Data
A. Hybrid Storage Architecture
User Data (Local): Your contacts, card images, voice notes, and search vectors are stored in a local database on your device. You own this data. It is only uploaded to cloud storage (iCloud/Google Drive) if you enable personal backups.
Account Data (Cloud): Your Account Profile and Credit Ledger are stored on our secure servers.
B. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited data with trusted third parties to provide specific features:
- OCR & AI Processing: Card images are transmitted transiently to our secure API partners for text extraction and enrichment. Images are discarded after processing.
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to process In-App Purchases and manage your credit balance. Transaction data (but not financial details like credit card numbers) is shared to validate purchases.
- Google/Apple: Used solely for authentication purposes.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You may request to delete your account at any time within the App settings. This will permanently remove your credit balance and transaction history from our servers. Note that deleting your account does not automatically wipe the local data on your device, as that is stored independently. You must use the "Clear Storage" function or uninstall the App to remove local data.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13.
